Default Watch Officer Missing

I'm still working my way through the Academy, so the WO may not be an option there - however, just wanted to check that there wasn't something I'm not setting correctly.

He stays in bed after you surface in the bow quarters. You have to roust his lazy ass up and put him on the bridge manually from the crew management screen.

And you have to keep a sharp eye on the goldbricking POs. Qualified enginemen switch back-and-forth between the diesel and electric rooms, and they take the regular sailors with them, but those unqualified petty officers are experienced enough to avoid work and not get caught, so you have to make sure they're doing the job you assigned them to.

I always wondered why they don't help out in the other rooms. I guess they feel they have some special "Petty Officer" privileges.
