Default Memorial Day on the Torsk

The actual ringing of the bell 52 (each submarine lost) times took place on Saturday in rememberance of Memorial Day. The following link will take you to the picture of days work and the ringing of the bell by the Volunteer group that restores the Torsk. Note: the uniforms still fit.

You can see my daughter and myself looking over the 1 of many books of blueprints for the Torsk. This particular book contained the propshaft set-up and various mechanisms on the torpedo tubes. You can see me in the AER replacing long missing coffin cover securing caps. Nothing like the smell of diesel in the morning.

Thank you to all that served and are serving!

Looks like fun! A few years ago, my dad and I went to seattle to the USS Turner Joy for Memorial Day. We go there right as the speaker started, so they let us on board for free! We had a great time, we had the ship to ourselves practically.
