Default Tactical question and resupplying

Hello, I was sent to patrol the grid DT26 with my IX B; on the way I've found a convoy and almost spent all my torpedos against it (sinking about 50000 tons). I've just 3 torpedos left.
Considering from an historical point of view; shall I continue to my patrol area with these torpedos left or dock at a supply ship, get loads of torpedos and continue?

Historically, you most likely would not have gotten torpedo reloads from a milk cow. The Type XIV milk cow only carried 4 torpedoes for reload purposes.

If you want to play according to history, continue on to your patrol grid.

It's unlikely you would have gotten a full compliment of torpedoes, even from a supply ship.

This is from an interrogation report of U-boat men in 1941:

Quote:
On the night of 8th May "Egerland" sighted a U-Boat on the surface some way off, which was stated to have been recognised as "U 107," commanded by Kapitänleutnant Hessler. .... Hessler had fired all his torpedoes and was apparently much upset that he had recently had a large merchant vessel in sight, but had been unable to attack.(...)

Although Hessler asked for a large number of torpedoes, Bahr only agrees to let him have two and, according to some prisoners, not more than one torpedo was transferred. At 0730 on 9th May, according to Rezning, "Egerland" started to refuel "U 107" and this, together with watering and re-victualling, took several hours. The amount of fuel transferred is not known. During the transfer of the torpedoes, a member of "Egerland's" crew who was in the float had his foot broken. The method of transferring torpedoes and supplies was said to have been by means of rubber floats towed to the U-Boat by "Egerland's" motor-boat. (See IV (vii).)

Never mind mookie and his green eyed response....he's only after getting the eels before you.

Go to the supply boat and get yer fill
