I was wondering if someone could tell me which entries needed to be changed to allow use of the Uboats in the American campaign. Am I correct in thinking that there is only one file that needs to be altered?

And before anyone comments on it, I would like to state that Yes, I know this is not realistic.

I am gonna guess here and say you are using 1.5 UBM.

I do not have 1.5 only 1.4 and I am not sure my solution would work in 1.5 since I use 1.4.

To answer your question on one file change. I would have to say no to that.

To set it to run in campaign would take a bit of manuvering. I am not sure how the weapons and equipment would be handled between the two since I have never seen the UBM folders. Maybe someone with 1.5 could help you out there.

use Mikhayl's tutorial on how to clone a sub, in this case a german one, then change its nationality to american and put the SSTypeIXD2.cfg in the Data\roster\american\Submarine\ folder; maybe rename is to SSType9 to have something different ?

as for the campaign see my post 69 on the above thread, except that you'll have to put the same things in the UPCData folder instead of UPCDataGe folder.

as for the weapons, I don't know since it would be using stuff from the other side, but since the files are already ingame, it should find it : we use "captured US Deck Guns" on the IJN side, so it works the other way around.

hrm....I was hoping it would be a bit simpler than that, thinking maybe all I needed to do was change which sub was available in the cfg file
