Typical pump kicker. When in doubt, use a bigger hammer. It can't be good for those precision optics.

Reminds me of back in my hey day we had PRC77 radios that we could carry on our backs. if they stopped working, or got alot of static interference we would drop them from 3ft or less. It was actually in the manual to do this, and it worked quite a bit.

Once had a Clansman TURF that refused to work until in frustration I threw it out of the back of the wagon,
When I stopped swearing at it I hooked it back up and it worked like a charm
