Default Battle stations "SILENT".

Can the modders produce a command called Battle stations silent? To be used by people like me who forget to order battle stations before contact is made. Iam currently running the latest TMO and the alarm can probably be heard in berlin when you set it off..And now for noisy crewmen. How do i shut up the IDIOT that yells everytime a torpedo goes off? If i could find out who that guy is i would use him as my next torpedo..

Seems like (before all the neat-o MODS), when you went to silent running, all repeated orders were given in a 'loud whisper'. There are 9 OOG files related to each command. If you get into the 'data\sound\speech\1-9' folder, you can play each one of the related sounds with GoldWave (shareware GOTO www.goldwave.com). Windows Media Player doesn't understand OOG files. I haven't taken the trouble to see if the older 'whispered' sounds are still there.

BTW, whoever put the voices from 'Run Silent, Run Deep' into their MOD, here's three KUDOs for you:

I delete all the voice sounds i dont want & have 4 main sounds, crash dive, surface, ship sighted & battlestations. The rest are all gone you would think this would kill some of the realism but i find it adds more to the game. I turn full rudder and my boat obeys i got no clown yelling in the background reminding me what i just did. With those voices now gone I and my boat can get on the job!

dont you love that guy saying "torpedo missed sir" and its barely left the tube!

none of those interior sounds are heard outside you sub so its not giving anything away

but it would feel more realistic if they shut the hell up when your trying to be quiet lol

The fact is on a sub everyone repeated back every order that was made.
If they programmed that, I would go nuts.

A buddy of mine is a engineer for Amtrak. I've ridden with him a few times.
He has a buzzer that goes off every 12 seconds that he must cut off within 4 seconds or it sends a computer alarm to the big boss. Non stop for hours he must cut the buzzer off. Says he doesn't really hear it anymore...drove me nuts. One time we hit a car. I was like "aren't you gonna slow slam on the brakes." Must use standard procedures, so he just went through the motions and wham, and the entire time still hit that dang buzzer every time. Finally stopped about a mile down the track...lucky no one was in it.

We all know they tried to keep quiet... but i doubt someone listening on a hydrophone can hear "SHUT UP BERNARD!!!!!" :rotfl:
