I uninstalled Norton Antivirus 2008 yesterday (I had 1 day left in my subscription) and I can't delete the Symantec folder from Program Files. When I try to get rid of it I get this message: Cannot delete AluSchedulerSvc.exe: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.
Can anyone here help me? I'm using WinXP home 32-bit with SP3 installed. Thanks... ![]() Disregard this. Nav left some Live Update crap behind when I uninstalled it that I'd forgotten to remove. ![]() Last edited by Murr44; 04-04-09 at 02:58 PM. |

Hit Alt-Ctrl-Del to bring up the task manager, then click on processes tab, see if any of the old symantec services are still running, might have to edit the register (search for AluSchedulerSvc.exe), may find it in a run section, can then delete and after a reboot delete the folder.

I think Symantec has a removal tool for their programs that will dump it all.
