Default Looking for a few mods and opinions

Hello all I need a little help if possible.

I am currently running the following

SH3 - patched to 1.4b
GWX 3.0 GOLD
Latest SH3COMMANDER

Looking for some mods to add the best hull graphics possible and offer some real weather conditions for my 1x patrols..

Lastly since I don't want to mess anything up, if a new mod is found what steps would be needed to install it without messing things up.

Use JSGME, included in GWX Gold; and use the included mods in GWX Gold first. After you are comfortable with these, then take you pick of the hundreds of mods available. Check the mods list in the stickey.

Also, in the third post in that thread you will see a list of Member Sites, nice stuff there as well.

Try here at BTS. You can see the skins before you download.

In JSMGE... the mods on top of the list override those that are below? Or is it the other way around?

Yeah, I meant the order of which mods, gets priority over another.
So, the mods on the bottom of the list override the ones above them.

I don't think that info is in the JSME instructions/FAQ links that are on the program.

Order is only important with "greyed out" mods, that is, mods that have files updated by subsequently installed mods. In these cases you must disable other mod(s) further down the list first to "free" the greyed out mod (as you would have noticed, JSGME adds each newly enabled mod to the bottom of the "Activated Mods" list).

For exclusive mods (ie no files modded by other mods), there is no priority order. Regardless of where they appear in the list they are "equal".

From the Help file:

"- You disable mods by clicking on the enabled mod and pressing the "<" button, or clicking and dragging from Activated Mods to Available Mods. If an enabled mod has had files updated by subsequent enabled mods, you will not be allowed to disable the mod until the subsequent mods are disabled."

Just wanted to realize what was overwriting what with the English Nav Map and Fotilla modifications of GWX. The given instructions just say to be sure that the English Nav Map mod is loaded first.

thanx

Ok, what is a good random weather generator for SH3, if one is actually out there?

There is none; Rubini has a mod to turn off the bad weather for a while during a patrol, however.

That is what I thought, thanks. I have not run into a 2 week storm yet, but if they prove to be a problem I will install that mod..
