Default The question that everyone hates....

I FINALLY got a new rig! Well to call it a rig is really overkill, but at least I know have a modern computer! So you all know what I am going ask next..What mods are the best? I have been gone from SH4 for ALONG time, played at launch and thru a few of the first mods but thats about it. Man I cannot wait to get home and starting sailing again, this game was the one of the main reasons I dropped the cash to get a new machine, I need to hear the thunder of the big guns and the whine of a torp...

Hey, I also recently got a new computer which is resembling what I think a nice rig too. The mods I am running are in this order:

TMO 1.62
TMO 1.63 patch (soon gonna switch to 1.7)
RSRDC v410 for 1.63
NSM 4 -> It has been told that this does not work with TMO...but to me it seems to work fine
PE 4 -> here are several options to taste and computer power: of course I PE'd the crap out of it!!! - looks very nice...but I hope that Kriller and W_clear get their Real Environment Mod going soon, as from that point I will probably switch to that one!

+ some small home grown mods by myself

With this I have all my SHIV needs are covered.

BTW if anyone thinks I got something wrong with the order of the setup I have...let me know...It works right now but maybe it could be better if I'd change it.

I think I have read that PE 4 will conflict with some of the E 5 files in TMO. Not sure.

Your next mod to try should be RSRDC.

Hmm maybe I should try to remove all environment stuff from TMO before put PE4 over it. On the other hand there are some Options in the PE4 pack that are specificly for the use with TMO. Do you remember what errors would occur?

There can be many unexpected consequences of environmental mods. They change the physics in water, and they also alter the way some of the sensors behave (by changing the sea/weather). As a result, I think it's sketchy to run a supermod with an alternate enviro mod unless they tell you it's OK/tested.

@tater:

Well there are some thing that are a little off sometimes...not often enough to annoy me though. And I prefer it over the setup without PE4. But maybe it it completely off and I am too ignorant to notice . What setup do you use if I may ask?
