Advice on new RFB crew stations
Hi all.
Im currently running: ROW sound effects V9 EE 5.0 + relevant patch RFB v1.52 + relevant patches RSRDC_RFB v1.52_v420 + patches Monsun v700 + patch 3 in that order. I would just like some help with having an effective crew and what to do with the new "Hogans Alley" section. What is that section for?? Any advice on crew selection and placement of crew is also wanted. I know im being a little vague but any advice would be very helpful. Thanks in advance guys. |

Excerpt from the RFB Manual. Page 11....
Hogan’s Alley: nicknamed after the after battery crew quarters, this is where the enlisted men from the bridge watch need to be placed when the boat is submerged, in order to protect them from depth charge damage (this will be described in detail later). Since this compartment functions as an off-duty section of the boat, it has no skill modifiers. Your's truly....CH |

Thanks coolhand.
For some reason, the read-me file was corrupt so I couldnt access it. Is it necessary to use it though or is it mainly for use in a depth charge attack as you have said? |

Hi Exponent! Hogan's alley is needed during a depth charge attack. Even though your crew appears to be below decks, unless they're tucked away in the alley, the game will treat them as though they're still topside. I would think you would also want to put the men in the alley during a crash dive avoiding aircraft. A close call from a dropped bomb will ruin your day.
Another thing: You don't need to run EE mod seperately, since RFB has the mod integrated already. |

Thanks fish thats pretty much what I wanted to know mate.
I realised after I installed EE that it was already incorporated but it seems to run fine so im leaving it. I believe WCLEAR and his team is releasing a new environmental mod soon which is meant to be excellent so im waiting for that at the moment. Hope its compatible with TMO and RFB which I think it will be. Thanks bud. |

The new "combined efforts" environment mod is already being tested by the RFB team. It will be incorporated into the next RFB release. I can't wait! ![]() |
