Default Help with installing Empire Total War

Can't seem to get the game installed. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling steam (At the expense of other games) multiple times but its always the same error. The install hangs at "Creating local game cache files" Progress bar maxes out but doesn't the installation doesn't go any further than that. Any help is much appreciated. I've got my long weekend banked on playing this

Correct. I've had it sitting there for 4 hours now. No movement at all. And that was after 2 clean steam installs to try and clear the problem.

Is the partition Fat32?

E:TW does not play well with partitions that cant handle 4gb files. NTFS is a good standard that has been well documented over the years and gives you a HUGE boost to file security.

I know I've been looking around. My harddrive is NTFS. I'm trying the Steam client update now, god I hope this works. Might be able to salvage my long weekend yet.

And failing that I've always got a backup plan

*Edit* Got it installed and working now. Brilliant, time to learn how to play this and have some fun. And even better my backup plan is going ahead tomorrow so its all awesome
