I have had intel on J-aircraft forums that the IJN didn't use color schemes on their torpedoes. only the dummy ones had such paintings, the warshots were steel with no markings.
http://www.j-aircraft.org/smf/index.php?topic=7212.15 anyone here has blueprints or intel on the IJN torpedoes ? I wanna redo the 3d model if needed, that is if they were different in shape than the german ones. keltos |

I've seen from most sources that most IJN torpedos are a simple steel gray-there's not even a line between the motor and the warhead. That's all I really know but I would trust it, I play mostly games that would know about it...IL2, etc...

I have also read that they were not normally painted, most that were painted were blanks used for training so they could find them easier to be re used.

crap... no eye candy then.. I have to change the color on all of them to steel gray...
how did they tell which were which in combat ? I know for a fact that they loaded different types on board even if their favored weapon was the Type 95 mod 1. if at least I HAD A BLUEPRINT OF AN IJN TORPEDO but I don't, I know they were similar to the german models but how far does that get me ?? keltos |
