Fleet Command s realism

Hi guys
If I check "hide threats" option ( to get more realism) when an unknown contact is identified as hostile, it suddenly disapears from my screen and I have no way to engage it.
Is there anyway to overcome this ?

The hide threats option is a filter, not a realism setting. Use it to declutter your map display. If it displays as a threat, it has been classified as a threat by one of your units, and you should act accordingly.
