Default Paper Modeling

So I'm curious. Since I live in the USA, papermodeling is rare, and rather exclusive. I have friends who think they are plastic models, then they walk up to them, and then realise they are paper. I've said, "It's like arts and crafts in kindergarten on steroids."

It's too bad I have no digital camera so you can see some of the work I have done. A short catalogue of my work.

1/400 Graff Spee
1/32-35 Tiger I
1/100 Jagdpanther
1/250 V-108 WWI-era torpedo boat
[WIP] T-34/1941
unknown scale
Me-109
Hughes H-1 (record breaker)

and quite a few others
my curiosity, does anyone else papermodel, and if anyone is interested, and I mean ANYONE, I can refrence you to some sites, and upload some models if anyone is looking for something specific.

A classmate of mine way back in the 5th grade was into that. He made a model of a school bus that was a masterpiece. I often wonder what he is doing today, if he delveloped his talents or not as he matured.

Myself, I stuck with plastic models with ships and planes as my favs. many by now are of course missing in action but I do still have my first 2 I did back in the mid 60's. Godzilla and King Kong still are here with me.

well, my hub starts with http://www.ss42.com/toys.html
I used to go to www.fiddlersgreen.net which has a lot of planes
for wargamers, theres http://www.papertigerarmaments.com/
the first one has 99% free stuff
the second and third one sell for relatively cheap, especially the paper tiger ones, those are amazing models for how much they are going for

I'm downloading a torrent that has all sorts of stuff.
The Maus "super-panzer"
HMS Exeter
HMS Nelson
a 1/200 scale USS Arizona
KV-2
even a...
VIIC/41
and a IXC/40

and, if somebodys curious about the other ones, all they have to do is ask and ill compile a list, then, they can tell me what they want, and I'll upload it to FF

Pretty cool stuff.

Ive been building what they call 'stick and tissue' planes since I was a kid. So for about 40 years now.

Problem is I like to take them out and fly them so most of them are pretty busted up

Sledge you dont know anyone who has a camera? Id really like to see some of your work.

What kind of paper is used for those models? Will standard copier paper work, or is stronger stuff needed?
