What Submarine Simulator to buy?

Hi all!

I'm new to this forum, and have been a long time away from submarine simulators.

A long time ago, I really enjoyed 688(I) Hunter/Killer. I've searched the internet a bit, and it seems like there are two simulators around that will give me something of the same:

Sub Command and Dangerous Waters

Which one should I buy for the best experience? I'm looking for a modern realistic simulator.

Tanks for the help!

We've been having issues with the STEAM version of DW on VISTA. It may be smarter to purchase the DVD/CD version, plus if you can find it, the big fat manual helps a ton.

I see, thanks!

I understand that the Subsim Store only offers the download version... I would be most interested in the boxed one - with a manual - and wonders if there is different boxed versions?

I see that the box image seem different. One type is like this one from eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/DANGEROUS-WATERS...4295.m20.l1116

While this one from Amazon is another type:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/BLACK-BEAN-D...1668989&sr=1-1

Is the game on the disks the same though, or is there a difference other than the image? What seem like a reasonable price today?

Thanks

I guess the two box images is because one is released for the US, while the other is released for the European markeds. Is there any difference between these two version of Dangerous Waters?

Thanks

I would expect them to be the same. Double check on the manual. The only difference is that they are probably sold by different companies for their region. If you buy from a US based company you should get the NA version or vice versa for the European market.

Download version has a PDF manual, if that's what you mean. It's not as convenient as a real one, but it's still there.

Also, if I've got this straight, I think Dangerous Waters is sort of an upgraded version of Sub Command, right? Or am I all wrong on that count
