Default Good alternative for YouPoop?

Well, the tossers are now starting to mute videos with copyrighted music in it, no matter if there is some else audio playing on top of the music, it gets muted. And what's worse is that after they mute the video, the quality gets toned down abit in the process.

So, what other good sites there are that support high quality videos?

www.vimeo.com

Ok for general videos, but not good if you're planning to upload gaming videos and do not use HD. They remove gaming videos without notice(mine have stayed so far, but I know of a few cases of that happening), and unless you upload in HD you're quality-wise better off with Youtube "high quality".

Just steer clear of red tube. Your vids might not fit in there, though you probably already know that...

I am glad they are muting videos.

Seriously I have had it up to here with teens thinking its funny to put a seriously loud copyrighted rock track to some boring event. They think its funny and perfectly alright.

It is not. Especially when they get off scot free while those who dare use P2P get sued.

There is TONs of small bands looking for people to use their stuff in videos.

The only thing I use youtube for *music wise* is for those older songs that barely get played/cant find the CD anywhere.(and some companys put up music there, universal music group/sony/have accounts where some music is uploaded.

In my opinion..... music is dead as of now.....

Music has been dead for years.

Except for video game music. That is where things are getting GOOD!

For instance a little known fact that the Sega Genesis game Sonic 3's Music had to have been written by Michael Jackson.

I can see where they're coming from in regards to "music videos", i.e. ones that just provide a slideshow to go along with a track.

But if you simply want to use background music, or use only a portion of a musical piece, effectively ensuring that your video does not provide an alternative to owning the music, then really, what's the point? It's not like anyone's making any money off of the music, or the artists are losing any. In fact, these videos provide free advertising more than anything else.

Why not just require that any commercial music used be attributed?

By going after these videos, they're preventing something that doesn't hurt the artist, while stymieing the creativity of others: the worst of both worlds. But, I guess that's what we've come to expect from the application of copyright law.

This is not about who profits as much as bandwidth wasted from these tracks that mean nothing.

If you want music. Ask permission from the band or go with an Indie band.
