Default Magnetic pistol

Does anyone have a link to something that explains how the magnetic pistol actually works or could someone explain? I know as much as the ships magnetic field caused the pistol to fire but thats about it. :hmm:

I've been pickling my head trying to work it out.

Cheers

Yep. All they knew was that something was wrong. And that they got told to aim better.
