CD not reading CD key

Hi,

I recently re-installed windows and when I came to re-install SH3 and the Grey wolves mod I've started getting a problem with the CD protection system (starforce?) which is now not reading the CD key from my disk and so won't let me play the game. Everything was running fine before I re-installed windows

Does anyone have any advice to offer?

If the game installed OK, and Starfarce is not letting it start, the obivious solution is not to be mentioned on this forum, but a google search would be very helpful.

I do apologise, I've just realized what I was doing wrong. The CD key is written on the front of the disc! Once I inputed this everything works fine.
I can't get over how good the sea looks in GWX 3.0 wow.
