Hi Guys
I have downloaded the war ace campaign files 001 002 and 003 to my desk top and tried using the 7 zip prgramme to create the final_full file before installation but am having some problems understanding how this works. When I click on the 001 download and then click extract, I get a message saying unable to extact due to archive- what does this mean? I can compress each one and then extract them all but I get a folder ending final.x, not final_full. Could someone please help by advising me in simple terms what I am doing wrong and how to do this? Many thanks in anticipation ![]() |

I redownloaded WAC last week and had to rename the files before it would work
They were WarAceCampaign_3.0_final.z.001 etc Changed to WarAceCampaign_3.0_final.7z.001 Try that |

Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know- it works fine now!
I just cant understand why they didnt say that on their download site! Have you found any problems running this version, and have you any other versions of this game on the same machine with multish3 installed? I have heard that it is best to play it without the bug fix or any other mods first. If you are ever in East Sussex, England, let me know and I will buy you a beer! Best wishes Robin ![]() |

Yes I would still have been there now I reckon!
I got the game running ok but yet again it crashed in a campaign! GWX never crashes so I dont know what is wrong, however I got a bit further this time, ie out into the north sea! Cheers ![]() |

WAC is definately more glitchy than GWX which runs perfectly for me.
I think it has to do with the large file sizes and there seems to be some that get missed each time on unpacking. If you get it running, check the museum as mine always crashes there, and this time it was when I clicked on the U Boat type IXD, which I reckon is missing from the list of boats in the file system. If you use SH3 commander and start at sea, it is fine on mine (ie no looking for a IXD) in the port on departure! Would be glad to hear how you get on. Thanks |
