Default oo-er, there it was -gone! poof!

Hello folks, just thought I would mention this as I do not think it is an intended feature in our shiny new GWX Gold.

There I was, coming out of Kiel on my second patrol ( first one was peacetime and entirely uneventful, so I came home again) and ahead of me two, um, 'tin cans' as some of us so disparagingly call them, are coming across my bow from starboard - this is before I have turned to port to head for the bridge, with the barrage balloons on my left side. These boats used to tootle along here in previous GWX, but normally I am able to turn ahead of them and keep out of their way. Today they look a bit close, so I stop engines to allow them to pass. Fine. As the second one crosses my bow, I give the order for slow ahead expecting to pass the vessel safely astern before I change direction for the approach to the bridge. So there I am, watching the ship steam past, when suddenly, POOF! she disappears into thin air ( as they say). Not underneath the waves you understand, just vanishes before my eyes. The first vessel is still there, but moored and not still making its way to the mooring as I think it should have been.

Was it a UFO or a time-warp I ask myself, or just one of those interesting things that can happen from time to time in the best of computer games? Whatever, just thought I would mention it.....

Probably hit it's last waypoint.
And it was set to Delete on last waypoint.

Or?
Early experiments for the Cloaking Device
used on those Flying Saucers that were kept in
a Secret Antarctic Base?

Which was used as a stageing point for the invasion
of Mars!

She-Wolf, I also saw these two ships disappearing in Kiel harbor. Looks very strange

And something similar, but a lot worse happened last night. I was chasing a large merchant, near Scottish coast, between Ireland and Scotland.

I was just a few minutes away from attacking position when she just disappeared . And for some time, the watch crew was still reporting a ship bearing 50, 700m away.

Oh dear Meduza, you too - how frustrating would that be if it happened just as you had lined yourself up for the kill. Let us hope it is just a very occasional 'glitch'

I'm afraid it happens every time a ship reaches its final waypoint. If not, the sea would be clogged with stopped vessels.
Fortunately, it usualy happens near ports, so we rarely witness it on regular patrols.

Ahh... first time I have seen it. In previous GWX I have been in a situation where an armed trawler has been chasing me for sinking a merchant, and then - for no clear reason, has simply stopped, with no damage to hinder it, and no longer hunts for me or responds to anything I do. Perhaps that too is a waypoint 'thing'. No matter. I like a bit of 'unpredictability' so these events do not dismay me. Thanks Meduza
