I noticed an interest recently on manual targeting, speed calculation etc. So I desided to descirbe you my attacking tactic (almost a WW1 era one!) giving you the FIRING ANGLE tables that I have produced, resolving that related mathematic formulas.
This is how it goes: Once you have determined the speed of the target and the distance that you will fire, you have to determine the impact angle of the torpedo on the target. This will determine your Uboot’s coarse at the moment of firing. The impact angle when attacking an unescorted target is chosen usually 90degrees. If you maneuver submerged in the middle of a convoy then you may have to choose from 0 to anything degrees. Then you pick the firing angle from the tables (for 31 or 44 torpedo) and you shoot when the target is on that bearing. Notices:
![]() So I provide in FF the tables of FIRING ANGLES for 31 and 44 kts torpedoes, related to desired Impact Angle and Target Speed. http://files.filefront.com/FIRING+ANGLE+TABLESrar/;12758448;/fileinfo.html You can print them or someone can make them draggable in menu_ini file. Hoping that there is someone interested…. enjoy it!
