Default Some Good News

After three weeks of no work from the temp agencies, and after not having a real job for a very long time, I got hired yesterday by a cell-phone tech-support company! I've had so many rejections over the last two years that I'm still in shock.

Of course I might get evicted before I actually get paid, and end up back in the homeless shelter, but I don't think that's going to happen; and even if it does it's only a minor setback now, and wouldn't last more than a month or two.

Anyway, it's good news for me, and before I know it I'll have my computer upgrades and be good for SH4 (and 5).

Woohoo!

Congrats on your luck and new job

You're actually doing better than me right now. I'm going to have to move to Chicago or Barstow, CA if I don't want to get laid off, and those moves may actually cost me a lot money in the end as junior railroad employees scramble from state to state to fill any open positions. On the bright side, if I go to Barstow, maybe I can pop in to say "hello" on the way

I've got an ex-gf who works for Sprint, btw. Used to be in sales and now she does tech support. I'm sure she'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about the profession or industry.

Good to hear Steve. You've always struck as a very bright and capable person, glad things are finally shaping up for you.

ACS (Associated Computer Systems) is the company I'll actually be working for. The Contractee is Verizon Wireless.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, while we were talking the interviewer said those three little words so dear to my heart: "ABSOLUTELY NO SELLING!"

Steve! Awesome to hear! I've actually got 2 months here till I'm out of the Marines... Looks like I'll be job searching as well...

And I've still got that extra Sub Sim Super CD you sent me years ago by the way. I've never forgotten about that.

Well, 2009 is looking kind of bleak for everyone as shown below and where I live it's looking that there will be a job opening to be the Governor of the State of Illinois. You should apply for the postion - It's {BLEEPING} Golden!. The kick backs never end :

Congratulations, Steve

Hey, if you're working for tech-support, you should start working on your foreign accent! :p

Great news! I'm just about to switch jobs from being a librarian to train driver. They are hiring two people to replace me! (two 0.5 staff, but it does wonders for the ego!)

Hope it all goes well and that you settle into the job without too many hassles!

That is great news Steve in two repects, one, you are now gainfully employed after beating the pavement for months, two, in this bad economic times, you scored a job!
