Default Terrorists Lego causing uproar

I want one!

Quote:
A Lego-style figurine resembling an Islamic terrorist strapped with explosives and made by a small American company has caused an uproar among Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

The controversial miniature figure, created by Seattle-based Will Chapman as part of his BrickArms military fighters line, is a bearded militant with a face-covering hood, a tiny toy assault rifle, a little grenade launcher and plastic bombs that can be attached to an explosives belt.

The character is called "Bandit — Mr. White" and sells for $14.

The jarring toy has outraged the British Muslim organization known as the Ramadhan Foundation, which called the figurine "absolutely disgusting," according to Sky News.

The foundation's chief executive, Mohammed Shafiq, complained that the toy is "glorifying terrorism."
Looks like our kids can now play good guy vs. terrorist instead of cowboys and indians. Good to have a company supporting this for our us!

Is Mikhayl the only one here that isn't a panzy? Kids have for ages played cowboys and indians, or army men, or whatever. The type of mentality I see here is of countries that have no capability to defend their own culture in the future. How many of you grew up without plastic army men, or something similar? If you say 'I didn't', I don't believe you.

Maybe you have your sons play with doll houses these days. Might explain some of our problems with society.

And Mikhayl, you remember the first Indian Jones movie where the sword guy does all his fancy moves? :p You know where i'm going with that!

Cowboys and Indians, Rozzers and robbers, James Bond, Germans and Tommies are one thing.
Such games all have a certain innocence removed from reality.

Islamic terrorists lack that a little. It is a little perverse whilst people are still being
killed and mutilated on our news screens each day.

This on the other hand, is excellent!

Subman1,

by all means, have that stuff in the US. From what I hear about the violent crime levels over there the kids better be schooled in all that stuff early on.

Oh to be a kid again....I used to build fortresses with lincoln logs and then pretend to infiltrate the fortress and blow them up with firecrackers or m-80's. I would play sniper with my GI Joe's by putting them in a tree or some other place and nail them with my pellet gun. Of course today theywould have a kid doing that in some shrinks office coaxing him into playing with an easy bake oven instead.

Are those parents in an uproar over GI Joe? Legos are just growing up, I mean how many times can you build a moon rover? The Lego people just got visited by the arms dealer.

I grew up playing with GI Joes, watching violent movies, playing violent video games etc. I turned out just fine! Oh wait, no I didn't actually, bad example. I'm sure it wasn't the faults of all the violence or shooting my first .45 at age 5 (with help).

I have to react here because people's stupidity has no limits!!!
First of all nowhere in either in the description or the appearence of the figure is the word 'MUSLIM' mentioned. The figure is not 'dark skin' toned and is even named Mr. "WHITE"'. So all the muslims need to chill out but if they think that the bill fits, be my guests by all means.
Secondly, I understand that true muslim religion is peacefull one and there are militant groups who twist the religion to fit their bloody purposes. But being OUTRAGED by a TOY is an overreaction at the best. It would be like Christians being outragded by a toy of a medieval Crusader because they were killing infidels in the name of Christ.
PEOPLE WAKE UP!!!
I am sick about "political corectness" bullcrap here in the US and it is sad to find out that it is the same problem in Britain as well.

I had action man and toy soldiers but preferred tanks and heavy stuff.

I did also have a wendy house too....lol

About that though, when I was three when it came to cut my cake, which I didn't want to cut I went mad, beat everyone up, threw people out of teh wendy house and shoved a boy off my trike...Wonder what that says about me?

He's not strapped with explosives - he's just carrying three grenades.

Besides, if you're going to have good guys you have to have bad guys to go with them. And while he resembles an Arab terrorist, he doesn't resemble all Arabs, just a terrorist. Should we be boycotting all the action movies made in the last two decades because the baddies have names like Mustafa or Khaleed?

This is just silly.
