Default I wanted to like SH4.. but I just cant enjoy it

I got it last friday, played it all weekend and this week, trying out all the various mods etc...

The graphics are stunning and suprisingly my rig ran it fairly well but I just cant enjoy it. Im not sure whats bothering me about it... its just not nearly as fun as SH3.

I dont understand how they can differ so much (at least to me they do), yet be virtaully the same game in pricipal.

Back to the cold atlantic and GWX for me.

In truth?
Sh3 and SH4 are different Games/Sims.

Sure, some of the modding is the same.
But play wise?
Different creatures.
Not everyone will like the change from SH3 to SH4.
Some love it.
And that's good!

Kind of like flying WWI planes then going to WWII planes in a flight sim.
Sure, it's still the same.
But different.

We all have different tastes.
It's the perspective you take that matters.
And it only matters to YOU!
Not anyone else!

I know, I just wish we could have the detail/graphics in that SH4 has in SH3.

Though before I saw SH4 I though SH3's graphics were pretty darn good too, in a sense I kinda ruined it for myself in that respect.

Hate it when I do that...

Im sure one patrol in the atlantic will fix that...

There both good games but I think us SHIII addicts have
played SHIII so long that SHIV would be like giving up your
mistress when your wife catches you.... HARD TO DO.

I never liked how SH4 was set up. If I could have Silent Hunter 4 set up to play like Silent Hunter III control wise, and the game interface, I would play it.

But since that is not the case.....its collecting dust in my DVD/CD case

I felt the same way till I combined Operation Monsun with Trigger Maru Mod. Now I have killer environmental effects with a great North Atlantic Campaign. Feels almost like SH3 except without the great gramaphone tunes. But I'm looking for a way to fix that too.

I had SH4 Gold with uboat missons.

I use the disc for a drink coaster and the case to level my desk.

So in other words, SH4 is pretty but doesn't have much personality?

I really hope the GWX can fix this!

There have been enough of these threads They often end in mudslinging, etc.

There are plenty of mods for the PTO side of things and some ( OM being one )
for the ATO plus GWX is being modded for the ATO so the future only looks bright for SH4.

Anyhoo....

Let's move on
