Default My lucky day

Well there i was on my attack run through a British convoy, sank 3 C2 cargo's before i attracted the attention of the escorts. As they were bearing down on my position i thought maybe i should dive deeper than periscope depth. I then remembered people saying dont change depth while they are searching for you so i stayed at periscope depth. Well a cat and mouse game started with me doing 1kt and trying to creep away, no luck as i had been detected. I was busy hanging on as my boat was being D/C by two escorts when suddenly it stoped. I went to external veiw to see the Luftwaffe had come to my aid and started attacking the escorts. I thought this was my lucky day, But i think ill buy a lottery ticket when i get back to port as when i looked at my boat underwater this is what i saw.

MINES

I was so lucky i didnt dive deeper.

looks like the fly boys bailed you out. I have never seen such a display of force...
consider yourself lucky... and you proved "the old man" wrong. Goering does send planes... once in a while

Bah, the flyboys were probably too drunk to stay at the airfield.

Stupid Goering, can't he figure out that we need more boots?

At least they did you a favour! Most of the time they show up and rob me of a mechant that I had already damaged and was about to finnish off!

You must have been in shallow water to come across the mines! Were you in the English channel by any chance?:hmm:

I was in grid BF 28, it was the first time i had ever seen a mine before. Do they catch people out very often? and are they only in shallow water?

BF is the Bay of Biscay! Are you saying that you almost ran into your own mines?

If its off the coast of England, they are British.

If its not....file a complaint to Doenitz
