Menu ID not found: 0x31020001!

got this after enabling enviromental mod 4.6. disabled that, along with other mods it altered then re-enabled those, and got the same error. disabled all mods and still it's the same

. there any way around this short of reinstalling? thx. SH4 ran normally prior to enviro4.6 a few days ago

I suggest re-installing. Shouldn't be too painful compared to what you just went through. If the error hasn't corrupted your game saves, you should be back in the water in a jiffy.

Fyi Environmental does not cause Menu ID errors. The most likely culprit is a mod with the wrong version of menu1024_768.ini.

dunno what it is, but i doubt i can use enviro4.6. new install and it works fine alone, but when certain other mods are enabled i get the same menu errorand i don't feel like goin thru each mod to find the one(s) causing it

had a lot, actually. anyway, after reinstalling it still wouldn't work. then tried a restore point and had to undo that, for guess why. diff error that time. something about a missing ani file re: animation. now i fear it's uninstalled permanaently, or atleast until i reformat and no game is worth that pain in the @$$

. atleast SH3 still work and i just got QE2 that needs some airing out, or should that be a rinse

. why is there no evil grin?

so, there i was watching Battle360 yesterday, Enterprise was in the Mariannas for the turkey shoot, and there was mention of USS Albacore in the area. i decided to see if SHIV would install, and it did. so far i've shotdown 3 planes, sunk 2 freithers and a huge liner on Porpoise

. now, if only i can fide the uboat addon, which EB no longer carries

edit: didn't have to reformat, even after a rig upgrade

Silly question perhaps, but do you use JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME)?

This handles the installation and uninstallation of mod files and I have found it to be pretty reliable. It might be of help in the future.

well, i spoke too soon. renabled several mods, plus a coupla newer ones, and the error's back, even with them disabled

. shoulda left well enuff alone

i dunno wth's goin on with this thing, but after reinstalling it seems to run as it should....again. got a few mods enabled, but one of those thar aren't is what's intefering with the others giving me a similar, but different, error
