It would be nice if someone could write a new doctrine in which the 65-76 wake homing torpedo be changed to
passive and wake homing guided torpedo. I mean in the absence of wake detection it would listen and homing on detected sound contact instead. And in the presence of wake detection all detected sound is ignored. Of course the torpedo will not be snaking. Truth is I'm not familiar with DW doctrine language. And another thing is to stop passive set torpedo from snaking as I think RL passive set torpedo won't snake at all. Should be possible with a modified torpedo doctrine. And for the case of dual guided torpedo an altogether new doctrine?

My first attempt to make passive set torpedoes not snaking failed miserably.
The torpedoes circled around instead. Even after i deleted my lines and I'm very sure only those 2 lines that I added, the torpedoes continued to behave incorrectly that is they were always circling instead of snaking. Only after I replaced my old file with a backup the torpedo went back to normal. This is not as easy as I thought it would be. ![]()

To show that the idea that the 65-76 may in all possibility have dual guided capability.
I quote from the internet The Yu-6 is the 533mm wire-/acoustic-/wake-homing heavy torpedo designed by 705 Institute And from wikipedia, Specifications (65-76)
