In that case dont miss, In Bruges.

Its nice good movies are being made in both sides of the pond. Beautiful cinematography, good dialog and mixed feelings, something different for a change. Im not going to post rewiews or trailers, they will only spoil these films, just watch them.

It was an excellent movie in the portrayal of amoral paradoxes and the illumination of the bitter truths that the bad guys don't always die, the good guy doesn't always have a happy ending, that monsters DO exist. And regardless of the best efforts good people attempt to induce during their lifetime they don't always end up changing much, if anything, at all and are reduced to a broken, dispirited and bitter wreck over failures that no sole individual is now able to correct.

I agree, In Bruges was THE surprising movie for me this year. No hype or anything, just really good.

No country for Old Men? What the **** was that!? Saw it and came out of the movie house wonderin' what I just watched. But I never did care for those types of films.

Told my son, he was never allowed to pick a movie again.

I figured with Tommy Lee Jones in it, it would be a good flick. But I didn't and still don't get what all the rave was with it.

The movie was about the context of the world we live in, and the disposable cogs that make our world what it is.

You really don't seem to realize that the characters involved in the plot WERE involved in a localized drug war do you?

War films may illustrate the realism and ferocity of war on foreign lands and soils, the film "No Country For Old Men", much like the film "American Gangster", was about the war we face in our own cities and communities.

The film wasn't about one side beating down the boogeyman while getting a bloody nose in the process, it was about the harsh, unrelenting reality of the criminals whom freely walk among us and what they are capable of and what lengths they will go to in order to achieve their goals.

You don't have to appreciate the film for it's brutal honesty in a fictional setting (what a paradox), but I do find it incredulous that you fail to see the story for what it is.

Awe, I was just havin' a little fun there buddy.

I saw the base story idea for what it was. It just didn't do anything for me. I read about it in the newspaper everyday. Besides, truth is always better than fiction.

I also grew up on the Great Lakes, and people go missing there all the time from ties with crime. They just disappear and are never found, like our old neighbor's son. All that was ever found was his wallet down on the docks. What ever became of him, nobody knows, but the authorities figured he was dumped in the river or one of the big lakes, and the only way to know for sure is if he floated to the surface, and even that at the time was a longshot. The surface area of the lakes are 1,000s of square miles, and for a person to found is pretty slim.
