Default No credit for sinking a VW Class Destroyer....a bug?

I sank an enemy destroyer and watched it sink and i got no credit for it. I didnt receive the *Target Destroyed* message either. Usually the captains log shows all ships sunk and didnt see it there either. It wasnt a friendly or neutral ship. Is there a known bug for this?

One question what are you playing? GWX 2.1 or stock SH3 1.4?

IN SH3 1.4:
It's pretty easy to sink any type of ship in stock. Even in shallow water.

IN GWX 2.1:
Is it in shallow water? It is really annoying if you sunk a destroyer in shallow water.

Because, even though the bow is sunk, the stern is still sticking out of the water.

Maybe you should damage it more along the waterline to really sink it.

I hope this helps.

Anyone have other ideas for this topic? I just sunk two ships with my deck gun and got no credit / no message after either sinking.

Both were with the Deck Gun. I used a weather mod several days ago to get the rain to finally quit.

I am playing stock 1.4 (other than the weather mod). The game still registers when I sink ships with torpedoes.

Thank you for any help.

I'm playing GWX 2.1.
Chalk it up to Bdu not giving you credit for the sinking. :p

I hit a Empire class freighter, surfaced, and watched it sink in deep water(1000+ meters) and never got the "She's going down!" message, no icon on the map, and no entry in the captain's log. That's 6000 tons I didn't get credit for.
Oh well.
I'm sure that happened more than once in real life.

I don't know what in the game causes this though. the computer missed some byte of information in the game and caused it, I don't know, but that's life.

An interrmitent fault with the game engine that nobody thus far has managed to fix I'm afraid.
