Hey guys I recently became very interested in Naval Operations of all sorts and found this game. I have one question. Is it possible to command an aircraft carrier in this game? I saw a fixed wing aircraft so I assume you can, but I am just making sure because I thought I saw a post saying there were no carriers.

Also, do many people still play multiplayer?

There are no playable carriers in this game. The only playable platforms are

- FFG-7
- MH-60
- P-3C
- Akula I/II
- Kilo (Imp)
- 688(i)
- Seawolf

If you want to command carriers, Fleet Command is for you. You control it however from the perspective of top down command (Admiral), and not as a "playable unit" where you simulate being onboard. Still.... a very good game. Try Sonalysts Naval Combat Pack. It comes with Fleet Command, Sub Command, and 688(I) Hunter Killer.

I tried to find someone to play online with never heard from it agian. I think there might be a very small community that plays online but i sure as hell cant find it.

I suggest grabbing up Dangerous Waters AND the Naval Combat Pack. That way you get ALL of Sonalyst's excellent sims.

For Dangerous Waters, make sure you get the LWAMI mod version 3.08:

and the Sakura Mod v1.02 (Be sure to read the instructions included with this one for using it in your missions)

This mod will be added into the next version of LWAMI when it's finished (And so far, it sounds like they're doing a bang up job of it, incorporating the entire SCX database, not to mention the communication satelite mod they're trying to perfect. ).

You may also want to check out www.subguru.com if you're looking for missions and downloads. There's a LOT there. "Red Storm Rising" for DW is especially good and I have a soft spot for "Sicilian Wedding".

There's always people here interested in playing multiplayer. Just ask and you'll find people. I'm always up for a game when I'm not busy running around.

Seawolves is no more... either that or they moved their site and renammed themselves. They were a pretty big community.. albeit I left back in the Sub Command days due to all the petty in-fighting there at the time.
