Hi all. I am thinking of buying a new laptop, and am looking at a Dell Studio 15 which has Vista and a 256Mb ATI Mobility Radeon HD3450 graphics card. SH3 just about runs on my current laptop, which has a Intel 945GM card, but it doesnt look very good and is a slideshow most of the time.
Thanks |

Personally I wouldnt recommend using a laptop to play PC games, simply because the image quality from the built in screen will be nowhere near as high as with a desktop system and a seperate monitor, especially with some of the high end LCD monitors today.Another reason is upgradeability, where the desktop wins again. You will always be limited with a laptop.
Having said this,it would be great to sink ships while you are travelling somewhere, preferably on a ship ![]()

I run SH3 on a laptop; you really need at least 2Gb of RAM. The video card should be fine; you will need more than basic vista. When you get it, you need to check the vista thread to find out how to install it. Even better, microsoft has a virtual XP that runs inside of vista, and will probably run SH3 better.
