Where have all the Allied Planes got to?

From Sept39-Dec43

One Sunderland spotted and shot down late 43 and that is it!

Yep just the one plane all that time.

I'm now based at Penang and spotted two in Feb44 and both were Japanese.

My conclusion is this, I have been bloody lucky to date.

I guess they've all went after me. I'm in the mid '41, patroling west of Gibraltar, and I have to dive like every half an hour because the place is swarming with planes. I don't remember ever seeing so many of them this early.

If you like, I'll send some of them back to you

No problem, mate! Which parts would you prefer: bombs, bullets, or rockets?

March 1942, I got attacked by a SQUADRON of Sunderlands south of Ireland,
counted 5 of them circling after I crash dived all dropping DC's everywhere. Luckily, circling the wrong place.
I guess they were upset about the other Sunderland my gunners shot down earlier that day....
And the Black swan and Clemson destroyer I torpedoed after they arrived on the scene to investigate all that noise.
And the two other Sunderlands and a Hurricane We'd shot down that week....

I wonder how upset they were at me...

It was during my old career, still with stock SH3.

If you are using over x256 TC you will start to see less planes. Over x512 and you will see very, very few.

mid41 ? lol u must have seen me cruising around there hunting the trippleconvoys going southafrika-usa-gb. when i dont spot at least 1 convoy a day there i have a bad day. everytime i hit something and its not a nightattack in less then 20 min 1 or 2 pairs of hurricans are showing up and herassing me for 2-3 hrs. I was chased even by swordfishs outside their fighterrange but i couldnt get a fix on the carrier they come from cause im not equipped with radar to track their way back to it.

I LOL'd at your hull integrity. Must have been a hell of a patrol. Interesting that there wer no crew casualties.

Aircraft carriers are unable to operate aircraft in the game. They are on the flight deck for purely cosmetic reasons. All the aircraft you encounter will have "spawned" from land bases. Doesn't make sense meetimg Hurricanes 600km from UK in the middle of Biscay though... Maybe they're British kamikaze!

Well the swordfishs not hurricanes (16 units total) attacked me where the convoyroute from gibraltar turns north to GB. And they followed me attacking in waves of 2 every 45min when im running along the convoyroute gibraltar->GB east of portugal CG49 to CG19 to catch up with a convoy i attacked the night before. No british airbase in range anywhere.

@meduza

I had a feeling those figures were stock based before I finished reading your thread.

The optimum tc for acceleration and still having a chance of experiencing air attack is x128.
