Default Torpedo damage bug

Hi, yesterday i attacked a convoy, five eels and three hits, two merchants went to the bottom, another large merchant had a hole in the middle of the hull; i had to go away so i managed to avoid escorts, surface and save the game.
I reload it at night, everything was OK except the hole in the merchant; it disappeared!!!
My question is, do the hit point damage still count and another hit placed on a non-vital part of the ship would be enough to sink her? or do i have to begin the work again with her in case i manage to get again in the convoy?
SH3+GWX2.1+Lifeboat debris+torpedo damage final version.
Thanks

how far away from the ships were you when you saved your game?

were they in sight? 10 KM away? 50 KM away?

Don´t remember, not in sight (stormy as usual for me, I should change my name for stormy guy), but no more than 8-10 Km.

you dont want to be submerged OR within the spawn radius of any port, shore line or ship when you save your game... your quite lucky worse things didnt happen that losing damage credit on a target.

generally the result of saving within spawn distance of a ship or while submerged is either a crash to desktop or sinking to the bottom like a stone uncontrollably.

better luck next time.

Thank you. I´ll have it in mind the next save. it´s the second time i have problems with the saves, although many saves submerged and very near to ships, the other one was a CTD i could finally load in another installation of GWX.

You have saved and exited the game prior to it's sinking (if it was even going to).

The ship has respawned upon reloading the save.

The clock/everything starts again I'm afraid
