Default My successful career ended at the bottom of the sea.

Never happened before. I died on Dec, 1939. Still pretty early in the war. I see a destroyer at long range. I dive and rig for silent running. Then it come all the way here to ping me. Any other time, a destroyer's depth charges is alway a miss. Some how this one here can score a hit everytime its passes. I sink to the bottom of the sea, which is only 40 m deep and fight the leak. But eventually the flooding get the better part of the ship and I am done. May be the destroyer has a new sonar. This is the first time I ever have to worry about depth charges. I can usually do my business in time compression while they ping blindly upstairs. Not to mention the struggle last for hours. I don't know what I did wrong.

The fact you were only in 40m is probably the reason you sunk from the DC run.You had less space between you and the DCs making near misses cause more damage.
When being DCd you want to be in as deep water as possibe,i'd say at least 100m,which would give you more time to evade the DC.
There may be other reasons, but I reckon this is the main reason.
And,using TC while being Dcd is bloody risky mate,I never do that.I give myself about an hour of real time from when the DC attacks began, stop engines, check for sounds, then carefully make my ascent, check through PS at near and far range, then blow tanks at Flank speed,as even surfacing you are vulnerable from attack.

rest in the silence of the deep.

but hey, at least its not real life.

you can try it again. could you imagine if you only get like one massive tutorial on how to play SH3 with GWX 2.1 and then you go out on patrols and if you die... you NEVER get to play SH3 again

now thats full realism

I'll tell you one thing: people would be a lot more careful, and we'd see a lot less of the massive tonnage scores.

"I think I'll spend a few more weeks practicing with single missions, thank you."

"Nope. Been playin' six months now and haven't started a patrol yet."

"Never mind. I spent so much time wasting time the game moved me to a desk job. Now I'll never get to play. Anyone up for a game of 'Kriegsmarine Suppy Officer'?"

i can agree with that.

i guess im just conservative and careful in nature, i rarley risk the boat & crew.

I heard a navy seal once say "Never stick out more than you would care to get shot off" its good advice for pretty much every battle scenario whether it be on the sea, in the air, or on land... i try to stick to that motto.

How about if you die, you get an electric shock thru your chair.
Nothing lethal, mind you, just enough to get a good jolt and make your hair stand up.
I bet you'd be less inclined to duel it on the surface with a Flower class corvette or a squadron of PBY's.

GR,

Playing the 1x game?,man, thats endurance and dedication for you
Theoretically then that could take 6yrs to finish!
How on earth do you pass the time during the mind numbing journey across the Atlantic?
I bet you even have racks of rotten hams and sausages swinging from your ceiling and monitor :rotfl:

heh I am just starting another career. I think I would still raid port a few more time before I avoid shallow waters.

Hey how would anyone have enough time to do a x1 patrol? This is really remarkable.
