Default Little black triangles spoted on the horizon !

Yes well this seems to be my problem as of late and try as I might cant get rid of the little buggers. I have a nvida card, using 16km GWX mod, these two things are the only thing I can think of that would cause the problem. But if anybody has a clue, I sure would be thankfull it really kills the realism. Oh and by the way all you people who work on the mods for SH 3 just want to say thank you for all your hard work you make this game for me. Especially the Gray wolf team, besides the little black artifacts on my horizon I am loving it!!! Thank you. I have SH 4 but I think I will stay in the atlantic for now! thanks in advance for any ideas or advise.

Do you know what kind of Nvidia card it is? Some older cards might have problems with the game and mods. Also, make sure all your video card drivers are up to date.

This can often result from a graphics driver problem...try d/l the previous version.

Which version of GWX?
2.1 includes the fix for the black triangles.
2.0 does not.

@spearchucker not sure which you mean by .... 'up to date' if you mean those from ms update don't use them. Go to Nvidia home page and use the official. Using 8800GTX's here and no probs with 175.19 . For wiw also using nhancer and got those babies tweeked nice. Best of luck, hope this helps.

EDIT: ditto what privateer said, tho there are still some anomalies using nvid cards using the 16k mod if I remember correctly.. shimmering or some such.

Best regards.

Thanks, I downloaded the offical drivers, it helped alot, they are still there but I think I can deal with it now. It seems to be worse when the suns shinning, clear weather, what settings on the nHancer are you using for SH3? I use it for SH4 but really just guessed at the settings for SH3.

Can you post a screenshot, just wonder if it's the same thing as Privateer is talking about (never had this problem - though I have an ATI card).

I probably sound stupid but first I have no idea how to take a screeny on SH3 and would not have a clue about posting it, but if anyone could point me in the right direction I would be happy to. It will probably be later though as bed is calling my name right now, but a quick description might give anybody an idea. The black artifacts are most noticable on the horizon although from the bridge if i look straight up its very bad, its worse in sunny clear weather. From what I can tell its has to have something to do with the lighting I never had this problem untill I installed GWX

When u want to make a screenshot u hit Print Screen on your keyboard
I don't expect u'll be fast enough to react catching that triangle which appears on the screen 1/5 part of the second, lol.

And theoretically this issue has been fixed with GWX 2.1 release. Don't have an idea how come u still see them..

If you are using the HiRes mod, if not you will have to use Ctrl+F11, this will save into SilentHunterIII main folder.
After this you will have to join a website like photobucket.com, then upload your pictures, you will then see your picture thumbnail displayed with a list of 4 options below it, copy the last option (url) and paste that line into your post here at Subsim.
Now get some sleep!!
