Default X-File fans?

I love the X-Files, although I'm not a hard core fan. Well I discovered my dream disk set: X-Files Mythology. It's the core storyline in order! I bought the abduction disk set. It has all of mt favorite episodes, mainly the pilot and the Duane Barry episodes. What are yor favorite episodes? I also love the host and the one about the carnies (season 2?)

...and the new movie?:hmm:

Whoa, Amanda Peet and Gillian Anderson :hmm:...

...must control testosterone levels...

I'm a recent convert since they started airing re-runs of the X-Files last month.

Was a fan of X-Files during the original mid 90's run on tv at least for the early seasons.
But the series jumped the shark after the abduction of Scully and from there it went just downhill.
The ending is just pure crap.

I was really into the Files when it first came out. But then they went into alien babies and it lost me.

I'm holding off for a few weeks on the film as the school kids are now on holiday and all they want to do at the cinema is to act up. After giving it a few weeks us adults can go and see it, Billy Connelly is in it.

I always felt the series was too long they should have done six seasons not nine which would have resulted in a much better show, I'm not knocking the UFO/Cancer Man story's as they were top knotch.

X-files should have stayed with the Alien thing. Too often it went into plain paranormal.

I never saw the whole thing.

Actually I think the exact opposite.
Some of the ufo/alien/conspiracy episodes were well done, but have the whole series focused on this theme really took it to the ground.
The first seasons were excellent because there was a well done mix of great paranormal/scientifically unexplained phenomena and alien/ufo/conspiracy episodes.
Who remembers the Eugene Toombs episodes ? Great and creepy stuff.
Aliens ? 1 or 2 episodes ok, but 9 seasons ? No no. Thats the reason I hated X-files in the end and appreciated moreso Millenium. What X-Files was supposed to be and was not.

Love the series and didnt think the movie was that bad either.

My favorite episode must be the one where Mulder goes into the outpost in the jungle where he encounters the alien and tries to record the voices with a taperecorded, only to hear afterwards that it didnt record anything. There was one other guy there too, who was scared to death.

Anyone remember the name of the episode? :hmm:

Never saw a TV episode, but i started to collect complete seasons of various shows. The places like Best Buy had the seasons for about 35 bucks a pop. But I went to Amazon and they had seasons 1-9 for 140 bucks that came in a nifty collector set box. So far it seems to be a decent show. Something to watch when the winter arrives.

I totally agree! I think the first few years of the story were top-notch, but it went down hill from there. I love the abduction, stories pretty scary and believeable, but the latter parts of the story were running out of steam.
