Default What sim?

Hi,
I used to "play" 688i Hunter/Killer with a group called Submariners a long time ago, even tried Sub Command. A couple of days ago I saw a documentary about subs on the Discovery Channel and felt the urge to go deep. Since I "misplaced" both my sub games and they're very hard to come by(don't even know if they'll run on Vista), I was wondering what modern sub sims people drive these days or is it Silent Hunter thats only available?

Best regards/

Modern: Dangerous Waters, or it's predecessor Sub Command that you already know. Go to the according forum to learn more.

Historic/WWII: Silent Hunter III (atlantic), Silent Hunter IV (pacific). Opinions on which is the better game, are split. More about these in the according forums!

Good luck, and welcome, btw.

Welcome aboard nillefix....there are quite a few options open to you when you consider how few there were a little over 3 years ago

Scoop up Dangerous Waters, and the LWAMI mod for it from www.Subguru.com

Then grab the Naval Combat Pack and get SCX/SCU for Sub Command from Subguru. And also grab the Fleet Command Naval Warfare Project addon from

http://forums.navalwarfare.org/showthread.php?t=66

You'll have your sub fix in no time !!! Look up the games here in the subsim store to purchase.

Is Dangerous Waters a further development of Sub Command or is it a completely "new" simulator?

Best regards/

SC only offers you submarines as playables, DW is basing on SC, but gives you a helo and a frigate as playables too. Dw is successor to SC, one could say. But be sure the matter is interesting for you, it is thick manual and quite some complicated stuff.

Look at youtube, search for dangerous waters, and you get some introductory videos by the producer.
