Help, please rookie in trouble !

Gruss Gott zu euch all Kaleuns und SH3 Genossen !

This is my first post here though I've been playing extensively and reading this forum as well many times, and feel a bit as a greencorn... As an introduction, I wish and must at least once congratulate you all talented Kaleun modders for your various skills and pieces of advise, and thank you for what makes SH3 a so realistic experience . My real name is Jean-Marc and I'm a french citizen living in Galway, Ireland. So please forgive a (still) few mistakes in English.
Now, the snag : I believe it's not directly SH3 related though, and am sorry if I have to open a thread for that, but dunno what to do any more. It happens for actually any kind of application. I've been uninstalling SH3 and all the running mods with no success (sigh !). To describe it, I have the downscreen taskbar all the time
( the one with the green "Start" on it ). Even if I unlock the taskbar, it disappear allright but the SH3 window is 1 and half cm short of reaching the bottom of the the screen. i.e. I can see a stripe of the desktop.
But of course the most annoying consequences are :
1) The 3 knobs for the Nav. dials are cut in the middle and it's not easy to reach them.
2) No clock ( Only if I drag the mouse low enough)
3) No " in figures" depth.
4) No " in figures" Degrees indicated from Rudder when turning.
5) Bottom part of messages truncated.
6) Officer Icons truncated.
So, the result is I'm and frustrated having uninstalled everything for nothing.
Any good soul around ?? Thanks. JMV

WELCOME ABOARD, Jean-Marc!

I'm sorry I don't know more about how the little inside parts of the game work. Don't worry, though - someone will be along who does.

Thank you for the answer, Steve. Yes, lets hope somebody can answer me, even if it's not directly SH3 related. Have a good day. JMV

Welcome aboard, JMV!

I think your problem is that SH3 is not in full screen mode.

To remedy, run SH3 and go to Options -> Video Settings.

Then make sure that the "Full Screen" option is clicked.

It's not recommended to run SH3, IMHO, because the window doesn't overlap the taskbar.

BUT, it's recommended to view through the SH3 Mods Workshop forum to look at some mods made by this wonderful community for SH3.

And again, Welcome Aboard!

Thank you for the answer Rifleman13.
In my main.cfg the full screen option is on YES though.
Will come back to you after I check what you say. But I say it again, it happens with any application, so I think it's not SH3 related but rather a computer setting somewhere...
P.S. What is that IMHO thing you're talking about ?

First of all u may want to check your monitor settings/geometry, a screenshot would allow to realise how your problem looks like..

Just hit the auto adjustment button on your lcd or try manualy adjust geometry and see what it does..

Ok Rifleman13

It seems to be working all right now ( or just so, because I just had a CTD, but I'll try to now what it can be first, before posting ). But for what we were talking, it's fine. I thought as the main.cfg full screen= YES it would superseed any other settings. I was WRONG , and should have checked that at first.
Thank you anyway matey and good day to you. JMV
