Problem with sound

I just recently installed a fresh version of ubuntu today. It seems to be working fine except when I log on the sound keeps repeting itself and I can't get it to stop. Also I can not use my headphones. I have never had this problem before, and I have no idea what to do.

You may want to try posting on an ubuntu forum, I don't think you will have much luck here but perhaps someone will surprise me.

Okay now I am told I need to disable PnP. Nut I can not find a Bios option to do that. How do I disable PnP?
