It's so long I've forgotten!
I'm running stock + 1.4b, it's been so long since I started playing SH3 that I've forgotten something.
When in UZO view, how do "turn off" the spray effect? I know shift+pgup/pgdn changes the clarity of the graphics, but how do you turn off the spray in th UZO? ![]() Thanx in advance. ![]()

Quagmire, on N-Vidia cards, the trick is to go into data/Cfg/Main.cfg and add the following line under the [Video] section:
HideParticlesNearView=Yes This will then permanently eliminate the problem when viewing through the UZO (at least it has for me). I got this tip on the forum from lurker_hlb3 (who sounds as if he was one of the game developers) back in January of 2007. Here is his whole quote in case I've left anything critical out: "First time when the N-Vidia user uses the UZO, the spray bug will appear. If the user uses Ctrl+P that option will be stored in the main.cfg file and will not be necessary to switch off again that particle system (cause the main.cfg will be updated). The Ctrl+P now is linked only with particle system from the sub so the other particles in the game will not be affected. When you exit to free camera or any other view the particle system from the sub will be automatically restarted and the player will not have any issues related to it. After this the player can enter/exit UZO station without any worries about Ctrl+P. We didn't make this ON by default because there are the users of ATI cards that have no need of this workaround." Cheers, EmeAzul |

Hi Quagmire1975,
don't forget to do this in My Documents\SH3\data\cfg\main.cfg, too. Otherwise there'll be no effect if SH3 was ever launched before! Greeting, SquareSteelBar |
