Noobie: Help me End Patrol

I just finished my first mission and I got a message to dock at Surabaya, Java.

I went there, but now I can't dock!

The little anchor button appears, and I can hit "Refit", and "Postpone", but the "End Patrol" button is greyed out.

Help is much appreciated!

Your home base may have changed. The one with the tilted anchor is your base.

Do you mean the blue anchors on the map? If so, yeah, there are many, but I can't find one that is tilted. How do I take in-game screenshots so I can show you?

That is where I am, and that also shows my orders.

I never had such problems with Silent Hunter 3, but I am new to Silent Hunter 4.

You have an older version of SH4, that's why there's no tilted anchor. Update your SH4 to version 1.4, and you get that one + a bunch of other goodies. I'd bet your homebase is either Surabaya(the actual change might happen in a few days, the message usually comes a bit early) or Fremantle, or if it's still December 1941 it might be Manila despite the message to move to Surabaya. That move usually happens between late December and early January.

A couple of questions, however. If I update, will I lose my saved games?

Also, I am still without a port...... Should I just wait in Surabaya for a couple days?

I've been told that the save games will only be guaranteed to work across version when they're made in port. I'd sail directly to Fremantle and try to dock before updating.

I am semi-new but have got the hang of it. You can do an advanced search of my name to get all my questions ( and more important, all the answers to them) search by author "buddha95"
as to your prob, update to 1.5 ( everybody writes for it alone) pick your mods, :

jsgmc ( to run mods with)
RFB 1.5
RSRDC
websters torpedo damage fix
websters deck gun fix

choose your diffuculty settings:
(I use all except limited fuel & manual targeting)

start anew and play like hell.
