Default bug with damages and save games

Hello, i've done a search on the forums but have not found anything about this :

I play the normal game, the only mods installed are the row pacific environnement ones.

I have a submarine in perfect health, both in game or using the Damage Control by LeoVampire.
At one moment i save the game.
Then later i take some damages because i was in compressed time. I decide to reload my save, and here, surprise ! i still have the damages ! the same ones ! but it's not possible because this save is from BEFORE the moment i take the damages ...
I quit the game, relaunch it, same... the damages are still here.
I load the save before this save... the damages are here too !
All the saves are corrupted and i always have the damages !
The most strange is that when i inspect the saves with Damage Control, it says my ship is not damaged at all...

What can i do ?
Has anyone already met this problem ?
Is it just displaying unexisting damages or are these damages really applied ?
How can i solve this (and is it possible) ?
I'm lost... and a bit disheartened, because it's my whole career which is wasted...

Thank you for the bump

The only "solution" i have found to save my career was to restart the first save of my last mission and to redock. Quite frustrating but now i can at least continue to play.
In a way i'm happy that no one answered : it means that this bug is not frequent.

Morabil
I've not personally come across this problem in SH4, although it is common to hear damage sounds when I first load up a saved game, if my sub had been damaged at some point prior in the patrol.

Oh... now i have a new bug... it seems hopeless *sighs* :
I am in the bay of Osaka and try to return to the ocean.
But it's impossible because i always get stucked. Diving or on surface, there is nothing around, i'm not damaged, i have tried many different ways, but as soon as i arrive at the limit of the bay my submarine is completly stucked. No way to go forward, backward, to turn... it just says "impossible" when i give an order...
I'm sorry to say that but i'm really getting pissed of this game : it takes a lot of time to accomplish anything, which is good, but when it's wasted by so much bugs, it's really not fun anymore : You have to restart a career each time they make a new patch, and then each time your career is getting too bugged...
It would be the launch of their first game i would say nothing, but it's not the case, by far.
I think people are getting too passive about the state the editor sell their games nowadays. And the fact that they all do that doesn't mean that it's acceptable.

OK, two things come to mind. Firstly, I suppose your game is patched to v1.4? If not I suggest you do this.

Secondly, have your crew been at battle stations for a long time? If so, then they are probably fatigued, and are unable to respond (think of it as the crew falling asleep on their feet).

All you need to do then is to stand down from battle stations, and when the crew recovers sufficiently you can move.

Also, there's no need to restart a career when you apply a patch or mod. Just make sure you're back in port. And even then, mods which change just graphics can be applied mid-patrol, although as a rule I make sure I finish up a patrol before I tinker with mods.

Thank you for your post
Sadly my crew was not at battle station and not tired.
And about the patches, even when i was in port, it was impossible to load my saved games...
Maybe i'm just especially unlucky

I have problems with saves too but a litlle difrent. I usually save when I find a hostile ship and prepare to engage (well I am not enoguht good in this game yet). Anyway sometimes when I reload the save strange things happenes, example: I save during very bad weather, my target is 2km from me and than when I realod this save the weather is nice and my target is 15km from me. but the worst thing is when I restart the game and try load this save - game crashes and save file is corrupt.

I use v1.5 with these mods:

RFB
RSRD
ROW Environments
and some hi-res sub textures

Maybe someone know what's wrong ? I thought that it was problem with RFB but looks liek only I have this problem.

Cheers

Thus far, I have never received physical damage by just loading a saved game. I have only had my crew yell that we were taking damage upon loading a saved game, and that's a common bug.

I have had my sub get stuck in what seemed to be fine waters. I see the "impossible" message when I try to make a move. It's rare, but has happened at least twice. I believe by clicking around on forward, backward, turning, diving, surfacing, etc., something eventually gave a little bit and I was able to make moves again. I just think of it as being run aground.

About the saving games with a ship in sight...I never never do that anymore. I have found that by saving with a ship in sight one of at least 3 things will likely happen:
1) the game might crash WHILE SAVING leading to a corrupt save and no way to get back to where I was
or
2) the saved game will likely be corrupt and not load
or
3) something goes wrong with my plan of attack and I reload to try sinking the ship again, only I don't get credit for sinking the ship that was in sight at the time of the save game!!

#3 happened to me very very very frequently. I quit saving games with ships in sight that I intended to sink.
