German Sub IX D2 from SH IV playable in SH III?

This may be a stupid question, but is it possible to modify the German IX D2 sub from the SH IV´s U-Boat Missions expansion in a way that it is playable in SH III?

Has anyone tried this before?
Some SH III subs have been "transferred" into SH IV, so I ask myself if it "the other way round" is possible.

I´ve got both SH III and IV plus the expansion installed on my computer, and enjoy playing SH III with GWX 2.1 a bit more than SH IV, but really like the look of the "new" IX D2 sub.
