Catholic Mother & Atheist Son
:rotfl: ![]() Damn do these radicals make me laugh. The part about Christmas and gifts: priceless, just like a Capital One commercial. And since when is Christmas about Jesus? I always thought it was about family and giving stuff to one another to express love for one another and having each other together to reflect on the past... and there's a small mention about Jesus, but that's not the main point. Oh, here's a good one: |

![]() ![]() Let's hear what US-senator Mike Gravel has to say on this trend: "A man talking sense". Abracadabra. Öh, Amen i meant.

That was interesting. I never realy realised just how religious the US is.
Over here in the UK religion is not a factor at all, at least among the every day working class people, it simply has no bearing on our lives anymore. As for what Mike Gravel said about morality, you certainly don't have to be a religious man to be moral. I am an atheist and i try to treat everyone with respect and dignity, at least untill they prove to me that they don't deserve my respect. I had the experiance of working with a religious man (think he is a mormon) the one time he cought me checking out this chick, she was beauthiful, perfect eyes, red hair, slim (anywho i digress). He told me in no uncertain terms that i was going to go to hell, to which my response was "How? There's no such place" (not knowing at the time his religious nature) he looked shocked and i told him that i don't believe in all that stuff. He immediatley started to try and convert me. I told him that i respect his beliefs and would never try to convert him to my way of thinking and i expect the same of him no matter what his religion demanded of him. He wasn't happy but he took my adviceand left it alone. Why do these people feel the need to preassure others to their way of thinking? The way i see it is if you want to be a Mormon, Jew, Muslin, Catholic or Protestant then fine, just leave me the hell alone and i wont bother you.
