Features: -Five new Ships: Sailingship "Preussen", Dreadnought BB, 2 Q-ships (Norway and Dutch camo), Swedish collier -Authentic flags for all British ships (White Ensign/Red Ensign) -NPC-uboats (Petrolboats) -More neutral traffic -Different enemy traffic -Eight new weather conditions in campaign modes (based on CB..'s weather mod) -New water textures (by CB..) -New MG reticule (by Chock) -Periscope crosshair (by Chock) -More realistic torpedo reloading times (Petrol 11,5 min., Diesel 10 min., UC II 8,5 min.) -Object viewer showing all ship types and English Short 184 torpedobomber now -New title song -German crew voices to 13 commands and events -Reloading sound for the deck cannon -Deck cannon range set to 2.500 meters in auto mode (manual 7.000 meters, same as in stock) -Max. speed, weight, draught and range of all warships is set to values of historical origin -Max. speed, weight and draught of all merchant ships set to realistic values -Merchants of same type but different nations have little different tonnage -New rank and medal system -Menu and loading screens enriched with WW1 paraphernalia, i.e. photos, postcards etc. (NOTICE: screens appear in German language) U-Boote Kurs West! will be packaged with installer. I have to agree with the last poster.
This game is incomplete to say the least if a player cannot save. Another sad ommision is the lack of a free camera, AKA Silent hunter 2, 3 and 4. All this add on does for me is take the dents out of a wreck that left the factory floor missing its wheels. Sorry for being so harsh, but strategy first really deserves a swift kick in the tail bone for releasing such a promising game without the bare basics necessary for fun game play. They should have put a save game feature in due to the fact computers crash every now and then, or people have lives outside of the game. So saving would be really nice. Also, what is the use of making such beutiful visual models if you can't move a camera view around to see them, especially all around views of your own boat? The camera being only a fixed side view, workable when only at the surface is the most useless thing I have seen in a while. The fact most of the programming in German also does not help the moddibility for the game, at least for here in the states. |

It's a point of view that's harsh but basically fair.
We don't know why it arrived on the market like this, but everything points to an ambitious project that was very suddenly stopped in its tracks. Personally, these extraordinary ommisions haven't stopped me having a lot of fun with this game but it has (ultimately) deterred a lot of mod activity that would have given it a lot more of a future.

I've downloaded it today and try the "school" missions it's really funny shooting down the airplanes with the MG.
When you are frustrated by the escort in GWX if you switch to SOF you play and relax yourself . Hi to all Kaleuns
