Default Was Wright speech set up by a Clinton supporter?

Not saying, just asking.

I very seriously doubt it. Wright has been a loose cannon for years. Besides,he's made it plain in a number of "sermons" that he can't stand the Clintons.

Just another case of Wright running off at the mouth without thinking.

It's far more likely that Obama distancing himself from Wright is what's phony here.

I agree with you on that Satyr....Obama was really late making a denouncement on Wright. Seems it was done just to appease the public

Obama might of felt compelled to act because of this statement by Wright.

"If Senator Obama did not say what he said, he would never get elected," Wright said. "Politicians say what they say and do what they do based on electability, based on sound bites, based on polls."

Sounds to me Wright is saying that Obama is lying about who he is to the public to get elected.

I believe Obama got backed into a corner and had to respond based on that statement. The others were water under the bridge blow em off statements but that one was new stuff that had to be dealt with.

Obama still belongs to the Trinity church.

"While Obama said he remains a member of the church "obviously this has put a strain on that relationship."

And this statement from an AP article

"And perhaps even worse for Obama, Wright suggested that the church congregant secretly concurs."

100% correct. This is what will lose him the election if he does run against McCain. The people in this country may be stupid, but they are not that stupid. If they are, well, we're screwed.

I still don't see the problem with someone being a member of a church and not agreeing with what some radical pastor says.

There is so much more to a church than just one man's sermons.

People are overlooking the possibility that Senator Obama's membership in this church was simply a political move (check the "religion" box for the voters). This is what politicians do.

We have to remember that McCain, Clinton, and Obama are all scumbag politicians. They work consistently on their "image". They will falsely represent themselves in what ever manner they can in order to impress the foolish voters.

In Obama's case, he was using the church to garner the "black" vote. Unfortunately Wright also has his agenda and the plan backfired on Obama.

Nothing new or even newsworthy. Just people with agendas (Obama and Wright) that happen to be in conflict. One hopes that Obama will choose wisely his political backdrops.

In any case, since I know that all three candidates are scumbag politicians who lie, I can't get worked up over this incident.

I don't vote for the candidate with the perfect advertising gimmick, I vote for the person I feel can work best with congress (another bunch of like-minded scumbag politicians), in hopes that between their dishonourable dealings, they might, just might, make one of two correct decisions for my country.

A bit cynical, but in America, with age comes cynicism.

But that one man is the hinge-pin of the organization. He is what makes or breaks a congregation. If there was any disagreement he wouldn't have lasted 20 years at the same church.

Spending 20 years listening to Wright along with his children leaves me to believe that Obama believes in what Wright spews..

And a Preacher in Houston who claims he's known Wright for 25 years said that Wright has always preached that crap for as long as he's known him. So Obama can't get away with coming out and saying that this is all something "new".

I still can't believe that people are voting for this dangerous clown. Hell,my cousin is stalking up on guns and ammo just in case Obama gets in as Pres and decides to give whites the "Mugabe" treatment.
