Looking for Oil slick/Smoke from smokestack mod

Ahoy!! As this is my first post on the SUBSIM forum, I'd first like to thank all you hard working modders who have added so much enjoyment to my favorite sim. I've spent hours downloading and enjoying your efforts. Thank you!! I have 2 questions for the community if I may...

1. I re-installed SH4 yesterday as I was having an issue with depth charges NOT making it into the water. I could see them rolling off the boat but that was about it. As it's no fun not being shot at, I figured a clean re-install would help, and it did, but I seem to have lost the effect of smoke rising from the enemy ship smoke-stacks and oil slicks when I down enemy vessels. I believe I got it from "Down Under" but unfortunately they are no longer online. Any help locating this mod or resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

2. I have created a couple missions with the editor, but cannot seem to get the mission objectives to appear on the captains clipboard or on the final screen once the mission has been completed. Again, any help would be appreciated.

I'm running TM 1.7.6 -- All ROW -- Warships retextured -- Uniform Mod V5 -- and Fooboor's Hi-Res skins.

There is a smoke mod that is stand alone but not a oil slick stand alone mod that I'm aware of. Try the search function. Use smoke as the key word. It will find it for you.

Thanks to AVG WARHAWK for the smoke mod tip. I found Kriller's Visual Upgrade 1 but when I attempted to get the "Smoke on the Water --beta 5--" mod, the link was expired. I know I must've found it on "Down Under" now I think about it. Wish I knew what I did with it. I'd love to have the beta 5 again... any clues as to where I may locate this mod? The visuals are fantastic!! Thanks again!!

Well, Krillers work you can get the whole enviro, smoke and oil package. It is very good. The smoke on the water is probably old and not used anymore.

As far as the wife and or girlfriend leave me alone mod....that is hardcoded. :rotfl:

Maybe something in here will work as a Wife Mod.

Dear Tech Support:

Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0. I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activity.

Applications such as PokerNight 10.3, Football 5.0, Hunting and Fishing 7.5, and Racing 3.6 no longer run, crashing the system whenever selected.

I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications. I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0, but the uninstall doesn't work on Wife 1.0. Please help!

This is a very common problem about which men are complaining. Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0, thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING!!! It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 7.0. It is impossible to uninstall, or purge the program files from the system once installed.

You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed to not allow this. Look in your Wife 1.0 manual under Warnings-Alimony/Child-Support. I recommend that you keep Wife1.0 and work on improving the situation. I suggest installing the background application "Yes Dear" to alleviate software augmentation.

The best course of action is to enter the command C:\APOLOGIZE because ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will return to normal anyway.

Wife 1.0 is a great program, but it tends to be very high maintenance.

Wife 1.0 comes with several support programs, such as Clean and Sweep 3.0, Cook It 1.5 and Do Bills 4.2.

However, be very careful how you use these programs. Improper use will cause the system to launch the program NagNagNag 9.5. Once this happens, the only way to improve the performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional software. I recommend Flowers 2.1 and Diamonds 5.0!

WARNING!!! DO NOT, under any circumstance, install Secretary With Short Skirt 3.3. This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and will cause irreversible damage to the operating system.
