Hey guys, I'm playing DW and SC lately, and I was wondering, at full extension, what is the minimum speed/depth to keep a towed array from dragging bottom?

You if anyone ought to know we have a DW forum too
![]() In the Akula anything slower than 5 knots seems to "dip" the array. You should notice it hitting the bottom pretty quickly though. Last edited by Fincuan; 04-22-08 at 08:08 PM. |

Check my website (www.geocities.com/billds9) for a chart (TA Droop Graphs) that was made for Sub Command. I don't know if its still applicable for DW or RL.

ANother tactic I use if I need to go lower - like 2 to 3 knots, I pull the TA in a little till it is off the bottom. Typically if you pull it in 25%, you won't hit bottom if you've got 100 feet or so below you. Pull it in to 50% for even more shallow.
