Default Allied and neutral ports...

OK, I am at the end of my first patrol since starting back on the game with 1.4, last week. I tried searching the forums, but cannot seem to find a satisfactory answer on these. It might be in the manual, but I fear that I might not have it because I am one of those that got "screwed" with the whole bilingual manual and nothing else inside the box controversy...

1- Allied and neutral ports. I understand the whole anchor symbol, with the tilted anchor being the home port. But what about the others? They are all the same color, how do I know which ones are enemy, and which ones I can refit at?

2- After completing my mission, I got ordered a new objective. However, I ran accross a convoy and ran our of torps before getting to the second mission. My home port is Manilla, and it's the closest, so i can go there. However, should I just refit or risk losing renown because I didn't get to that second mission?

3- Postpone: what does that option do when docking??

Thanks!

Ian

Ok let me see if I can answer a few of these.

1. Yes the tilted anchor is your home port, all the other anchors are friendly ports that you can refit at. If a port dosen't have an anchor symbol over it you can't use it.

2. That one is entirely up to you, you're the skipper . You could refit and head back out, thay did that some times during the war, called em double barrled patrols. Or if you've had a good patrol, baged lots of tonnage, you could call it a day and end it there without too much worry about losing renown.

3. That one is basicaly a cancel buton, say you don't want to dock or refit just hit that and you can be on your merry way.

Hope i've been of some help, good hunting

Oh ok, thanks alot. It answers all my questions!

I just thought that there was neutral ports that you could use to refuel only.

Happy hunting!

Default neutral ports

yeah, the manual says that you can refuel at neutral ports, but you can't. Even Darwin (an allied port by any sensible definition) is useless in the stock game. I don't mind not having access to neutral ports, but I do mind not being able to refuel in australian ports.
