2.1 Issues

When i start GWX 2.1 it loads the menu about 75%, stops, and then gives me a message saying "There is a new (non implemented) page: !" so i click ok and then.... another meesage pops up saying "Menu ID not found: 0x1a000008!" so i clcik ok on that message and GWX stops working. any insight on this guys? I have a Dell XPS m1530 with vista

Did you run the 2.1 patch as an Administrator?

Seems that Vista has excluded some files during the patching process.

Yes. I didn't when it was being installed though, could that be why?

Also, when I first installed Regular GWX I had a notepad show up on my desktop (GWXInstERR- NOTEPAD) The contents of this notepad file are displayed below... DEBUG: Test 1 PASSED DEBUG: Test 2 FAILED Version is 1.0.0.1 DEBUG: Test 3 PASSED DEBUG: Test 4 Seems to have PASSED IF Size is not Zero - Size is 2364526 DEBUG: Test 5 Seems to have PASSED IF Size is not Zero - Size is 69255 DEBUG: Test 6 Seems to have PASSED IF Size is not Zero - Size is 1177801 At least one of the tests failed

That looks alot like the errors I used to get when running, for example, the early version of SH3Cmdr with unpatched 1.0 version of SHIII. :hmm:

Could be. From the GWX FAQ page:The same would hold true for the new patch.

*****Installation of GWX on Widows VISTA

Perform the following steps if you are installing GWX in a Windows Vista® environment.

1. Unistall Silent Hunter III
2. Delete the residual Silent Hunter III installation folder and all contents
3. Delete (or at least rename) your “MyDocuments\SH3” save game folder
4. Delete the “C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Pr ogram Files\SilentHunterIII” folder and all its contents, if it exists.
5. Reinstall Silent Hunter III. The GWX Team recommends you install it outside of the “\Program Files” folder
6. Right-click the 1.4b patch “.exe” file and select “Run as administrator”
7. Install the patch
8. Verify you installed the patch correctly by running the game.
9. If the game fails to run, download and install the StarForce Vista update from the StarForce developers’ site: http://www.star-force.com/support/sfdrvup.zip.
10. You can now run optional tools like SH3 Commander, JSGME, SH3Gen, etc. provided you run them as an “Administrator” after you have installed them.*****

Further to my post above.

The failed installer report shows that your basic SH3 install is not patched to 1.4b. Again, this maybe a Vista protection issue. Try the full instructions I posted.
